This will be my very 1st review on anything! Like numerous others I spent countless hours comparing the various options for gaming headphones. For some reason TB makes a 5.1 headphone for Xbox360 but not the PS3. Anyway the Tritton 720 AX pro and there other sets came into my sights.
However I could not talk myself into spending around 0 for a pair of headphones, I wonder if the Astro's or AX pro's are any better with actual separate speakers. But again much more money...
I purchased mine from Ebay for 0 with free shipping. I know I lost any hope if something goes wrong. But I will take that chance to save .00!
Set up was super quick and easy. You wil need to go into settings for audio and choose optical 5.1.
also make sure your Mic settings are changed if you were using a blue-tooth headset for talking. Once everything is good turn on the power to them and your PS3 and hold on for the ride.
Sound is as incredible beyond imagination. You will be speechless when playing COD MW, Madden, ANYTHING! I like other's tend to play when the rest of the family goes to bed, so I could not enjoy the experience fully. Now I can and will never regret my decision. Like other reviews my only issue is the Bass output. I know it is limited because of the speakers handling all the sound output. Bass frequencies + Treble frequencies= distortion. That is why high end car systems drive highs, mids, and lows separately. The ability of these headphones to create a 5.1 experience eliminates my minimal griping. The other simple issue is they will never leave my house, as they are giga-normous! If you venture out you may be recognizable as an air traffic controller.
Another bonus for some is the ability to plug into anything you use. I only have a PS3 and PC. It plugs into anything with the right adapter.
So again if you can swallow the price tag on these bad boys purchase and be totally satisfied. Until they "JACK" into my brain stem as the next best idea I will be 110% totally satisfied with this purchase.
