I purchased this headset after my Dog chewed up the standard Xbox headset. I have never given wireless headsets a try, but I have been pretty impressed so far.
The headphones are comfortable and the sounds is pretty good. You get the odd click or low level hiss, but these are only really noticeable when there is no sound or low level sound coming from the device you are connected to.
One thing I did notice about the device is that there is no way it connects to my Xbox 360. The video makes it look like it can connect to the Xbox 360 seamlessly, but the adapters didn't match my Xbox 360. Maybe I have a different iteration of the console than this headset was intended for, but I ended up connecting the wireless transmitter to the A/V out on my television. The benefit to that is I can use this headset to watch television as well, which is great when a hockey game is still in triple overtime and my wife wants to go to sleep.
The range is pretty good, should cover how far anyone would sit to watch television comfortable. Battery life seems pretty good, I don't use this device alot, but it seems to hold battery power for a good amount of time (had about 8 months, changed batteries once).
Overall, if you aren't an audiophile, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with this headset. The sound isn't perfect due to the slight interference, but it is rich and full and makes for an enjoyable gaming or viewing experience.

Ear Force X31 Digital RF Wireless Game Audio + Xbox Live Chat Overviews
The Ear Force X31 is our third generation of wireless headsets for the XBOX 360. Like the X3, the X31 combines XBOX live chat with wireless game sound so you can hear the game sound and the voices of other players in the headset. This new digital RF technology is a huge improvement over analog IR because it delivers CD-quality sound with no background hiss, no interference from plasma TV screens and no line of sight restrictions between the transmitter and headset. Sound quality is improved with new 40mm speakers that use the same design as our high-quality X41 50mm speakers for better frequency response and improved clarity in the game sound. Inside the headset is a digital signal processor for bass boost and stereo expander effects, which can be turned on by pressing this button. This makes the expander more dramatic than the X3.
